Love.... Love is most intense and most powerful of emotions.
Love is dynamic, evolving, flowing like some irresistible tide that we humans are powerless to control. Love can lift our souls to incredible highs of ecstasy. And love can push us into the darkest despair, depression, and anguish.

To love is the delight
Of beholding and touching
A loveable and loving creature.

Love can fulfill us,make us complete, and give us strenght and inner peace. Love shapes our soul and shakes the foundation of our very existence. Or, love can upset us, make us unable to work, unable to focus, unable to draw pleasure from life. And most of us know precious little about love, why we express love the way we do, or how to love.
There are many kinds of love. There is family love, including parent-child love. There is compassionate love, where we care deeply for our ideals or humanity, in general. There is romantic love, the pasionate love shared by two people as significant others. And then there is the phenomenon it is called "love at first sight". Is this an emotion that appears in a single moment? All the time we see other people who we find attractive. Some of them are more attractive than others. Some of them are very attractive indeed. If someone is very attractive to as and there are also other things about the person that makes him appear as a possible partner then this combination of emotionally powerful components can be so strong as to qualify as "love at first sight". It is truly exists for those who believe in it!
Some authors and philosophera have contended that love is too profound and expansive to be defined. Other contend that love is the glue of human existence. Others simply say that to love is to live. Most of us cannot define love precisely, but we know when we feel it, and we know even more clearly when we lose it.
The emotion of love is about oneness, wholeness, completness with another person. If we, as humans, do not love, we are not complete in life. To be loved and to give love is the very essence of life. Not only has the concept of love evolved over the millenniums, love evolves through our lifetimes and our relationships. The way we love when we are young is different then the way we love after a few years with a person. And the way we love can ebb and flow over the course of a single day. Simply put, love is a dynamic, fluid emotion that will take on many forms and manifestations.
Just as each human has a unique fingerprint, each human has a unique pattern of loving.
